Dark Funny Story

I"m excited about all the little people put on my guest map, thank you!! Put yourself on there, if you aren't already!!

Ok, here is a rather dark funny story to round out the weekend.
I lived w/ my parents for about 8 months when I was 27. One day as I left for work, I passed a black and white dead cat on the road. I turned around and picked it up and went back to their house. I sat in the driveway holding this frozen and stiff cat in my arms rocking back and forth and sobbing 'Oh My Kitty Boo Boo, why did you go so far from home and get run over, you never go so far'. Kitty Boo Boo was a cat I had since I was 15 (and of course left at mom's when I moved out).
Our cousin Betsy who was doing some office mgmt for my parents company came outside and started to laugh at me, which infuriated me. She went on to explain that she thought it was Kitty Boo Boo also and had called mother and mother had said she had seen the cat, but knew it wasn't Kitty Boo Boo b/c she had seen her at the house right when she left.
I told her indignitly that I knew my cat and this was my cat. Not long after that, Kitty Boo Boo walks up to me, curious of what I am doing. Oh my. Well, so what to do w/ this cat. I went back to the scene and placed it carefully away from the road so the owners could find it and know what happened to it. I noticed it was removed on my way home.
When I got home that evening, my stepfather was more quiet than usual. I told mother how upsetting that was for me and why didn't she warn me there was a look alike cat dead on the road. My step dad's ears perked up and he said 'That wasn't kitty boo boo? What am I supposed to do w/ it, it's in the back of my truck, I didn't know how to tell you all yet."

Disclaimer : (I'm not making light of the tragedy of animals being run over, don't yell at me! I have had that happen to me and it's horrific)
