Valentines day...
I know it sucks, the whole day has so much pressure on it, to go perfectly, or if you are alone you feel all freaky about it and want to ignore it.I recall several years ago when I was alone, right after a break up, I got a call from the four star restaurant that I used to work at, that they needed extra help, so I thought what the hell, I can use the extra cash and it will keep me busy. I show up and they have all the help they need, so would I do coat check? I wanted to scream, coat check sucks, you feel so subservient and silly. That's for the new peons, not the people who have paid their dues and agree to help out! And I have a thing against all those fur coats. Well, I went ahead since I was all the way there and agreed to do it and made some fifty bucks in tips. They didn't use a real coat check system, just a deck of cards cut in half. And several people came in at once, and I got them all messed up. It was pretty funny when I was giving out the wrong coats, of course they all knew which was theirs,,, I finally just asked people to show me which one was their coat.
