Lot's 'o things to do
This week is 'Mental Illness Awareness week' and here in Knoxvegas we are doing activities all week long. Friday we will have a public awareness/consumer celebration day at Market square from 12-4. The usual fair - free food/entertainment/games/prizes. Last year it rained and I grilled and served hot dogs. I stayed in the rain. I mean I stood there in the rain and continued to serve food to everyone who wanted the free food in the rain. Rain, even pouring rain, won't stop people from attending our great events (or getting free food).I think I have worked at this event for 14 years now. I used to plan it, in my former life, now I can just volunteer (Thank you God). I get to visit w/ many former friends and the people I worked with for many many years and it's a great deal of fun and I'm looking forward to it.
Tomorrow I'm not looking forward to one aspect of my day, dealing w/ a personal issue, but once it's resolved, I will be relieved. But I'll also spend the day helping gather all the things for the event above.
Then this weekend, God willing and the crik don't rise, Ma and I will head to Ky to the St. James Art Fair and enjoy visiting w/ one of my best friends Anne and seeing over 1000 artisians with over 1/4 million other people there. She lives right in one of the courtyards in historic downtown Louisville where the fair is, so it's out the door and there you are in the festival. Here's a rather interesting story from our trip last year to the festival. And here are some interesting things we saw.
Next week, Newscoma and Rodent Queen will be gracing our fair town, never to leave it the same. So I am so excited to meet my kindred sisters and have some cockatils with them. They will be here when Greekfest is here - something I haven't missed in at least seven years. I'm glad it's back at the church. Didn't seem very greekfest like at the Worlds Fair site. Then next weekend is also the Brewers Jam. Not sure if I'll be at that, though I have a heart's desire to attend.
The three T's ( tracy, tracy and tammy) and Meri, will be here from Ga to stir up the most pleasant kind of mischief and fun so that is the major weekend agenda. It seems they have made October an annual trip for three years. One year my funeral (wedding I mean), the next year a divorce celebration and this year the second anniversary of my divorce (well, I say that, but they just want to get away).
If you live in knoxvegas come on out friday and see us!
